Isn't this thread pointless since guests cannot see the forum? At least for me, I had to jump through a million and one hoops before I could see anything.
Just a thought, you might attract more people if they could see the forum before having to register. That way they could see if it's really something they want to join. A lot of people are put off by having to register just to see if it's a forum they *might* be interested in.

I think that keeping some of the forum away from guests entices them more, if they can see some of the contents ands they like it they can register and see the rest. and also if they can see all of the forum there is no need to register, i know that no money is being made from this but if it was, it would be a good marketing move.

Yeah, except NONE of the forum is visible unless you register and log in as a member. Irritating if you ask me, but that's just my opinion.

I have to agree with copycat.
I couldn't see ANY of the forum without registering, let alone this thread, so it does seem a bit redundant.

In addition to agreeing with CC, its a pain in the backside if you cant tell what the forum is about, only to find its not what you expected at all. Imagine, you've registered, you dislike, and now your inbox is under threat of reminding you that you have joined a forum you dislike, and even if you can send the mail staright to junk, it spams up your junk box. Very BAD "marketing move", to coin a phrase previously used.
At least make guest area's visible to guests. Its not like they're coming to spam you with pointless comments, is it?

my bad, i thought some of the forum was visble to guests, but to resolve your problem blackeyedspyder couldn't you just remove yourself from the mailing list or simply block them using your email server?

The forum is visable to guests, and was only not visable to guests for a few days, guests are able to see the comment section and the suggestions section, and theyu can see what other boards we have, though they can not enter them, i appriciate your suggestions though. clc
